Blessings...

As I went through the contents of my Hope Chest today, reading the letters from those who attended my blessing ceremony, and as I thought of different things that I might want to be put in my chest, my eyes brimmed with tears...
There was a flood of emotion that over came me, there in my room. For I noticed what has been happening to me this past year and it filled me with joy, tenderness, love but, also it had me a bit afraid.
These last couple of months I've been thinking more about my future, and plans I might want to set out and accomplish, or I've just thought of the beauty of life. For as of late I've found I have more of a draw for children, and there sweet little ways than before. A passion for the character of a Godly woman in my self than before, and I'm realizing I'm blooming!
The emotion of this is overwhelming, and looking back at that day where I was given a ring, to be loyal to whom-ever I marry, and me thinking of the lives I had influenced that day. I find I am truly blessed, with the promise of a well and Godly future, a opportunity to do whatever God wants me too, and to be a mother-like woman to those girls who are younger than me, and a sister to those who are of my age!
I could not have done this without the patience of God, for he has been a great teacher in giving me experiences to conduct my heart, and parents who haven't given up on me. For family who has been close as, mother, father, brother or sister to me! And to friends who confide in me, and even if we disagree we listen for we are journey partners.
Blessings comes in the folds of life, where you least expect them and that's what I realized today!

Sense and Sensibility

I absolutily love this movie, and I just had share some of my favorite quotes with you.

Elinor Dashwood: Margaret has always wanted to travel.
Edward Ferrars: I know. She's heading an expedition to China shortly. I'm to go as her servant. But only on the understanding that I am to be very badly treated.
Elinor Dashwood: What will your duties be?
Edward Ferrars: Sword fighting, obviously, administering rum and swabbing.
Elinor Dashwood: And which of these will take precedence?
Edward Ferrars: Swabbing, I imagine.

Marianne: Fanny wishes to know where the key to the silver cabinet is kept.
Elinor Dashwood: Betsy has it I think. What does Fanny want with the silver?
Marianne: One can only presume she wants to count it. What are you doing?
Elinor Dashwood: Presents for the servants. Have you seen Margaret by the way? I'm worried about her. She's taken to hiding in the oddest places.
Marianne: Fortunate girl. At least she can escape Fanny which is more than any of us is able.
Elinor Dashwood: You do your best. You've not said a word to her for a week.
Marianne: I have. I've said "yes" and "no".

Mrs. Dashwood: If you cannot think of anything appropriate to say you will please restrict your remarks to the weather. (Wise advice.)

[Edward and Elinor are baiting Margaret, who is playfully hiding]
Edward Ferrars: I wish to check the position of the Nile. My sister tells me it is in South America.
Elinor Dashwood: No. She's quite wrong, for I believe it is in Belgium.
Edward Ferrars: You must be thinking of the Volga.
Margaret: The Volga?
Elinor Dashwood: Of course, the Volga. Which, as you know, starts in...
Edward Ferrars: Vladivostock, and ends in...
Elinor Dashwood: Wimbledon.
Edward Ferrars: Precisely. Where the coffee beans come from.
Margaret: The source of the Nile is in Abyssinia.
Elinor Dashwood: Marianne, can you play something else? Mamma has been weeping since breakfast.
[From the other room as Marianne switches to a dirge]
Elinor Dashwood: I meant something LESS mournful dearest.

Marianne: Good morning, Fanny.
Fanny: Good morning, Miss Marianne.
Marianne: How did you find the silver? Was it all genuine?

Marianne: Are we never to have a moment's peace? The rent here may be low but I believe we have it on very hard terms.
Elinor Dashwood: Mrs Jennings is a wealthy woman with a married daughter, she has nothing to do but marry off everyone else's.

Marianne: Come, I'm taking you on a walk.
Margaret: No, I've been on a walk.
Marianne: You need another.
Margaret: It's going to rain.
Marianne: It is NOT going to rain.
Margaret: You ALWAYS say that, and then it ALWAYS does.

Elinor Dashwood: Would you have him treat her even worse than Willoughby has treated you?
Marianne: No. But nor would I have him marry someone he does not love.

Margaret: Do you think he'll kneel down when he asks her?
Elinor Dashwood: Shh!
Margaret: They always kneel down.

Edward Ferrars: Perhaps Margaret is right. Piracy is our only option.

Edward Ferrars: Your friendship has been the most important of my life.
Elinor Dashwood: You will always have it.

A Trip to Va!

So this past weekend I went to Va! I had a exciting time, going to the homeschool converence and meeting new people. Being able to see old friends again! Browsing many booths, with ideas for future ideas for my hopechest. Queen's Homeschool is one that I thought about buying from, I love the moral stories and Dolly Mason style of it.

Here is the site for others who might be interested, Queen Homeschool.

The books I really would love to get is the "Ladies of Virtue" Series. They are very charming and moral, which are the kind of books I love! Do see now why I love Louisa May Alcott?

So I had fun there, and then we had a cookout at my Aunt and Uncles where the kids watched "Finding Nemo."

So that was a hoot, and then I had quite a time at my cousins! Reading, while listening to period drama music, taking quizes to see which "Anne of Green Gables" character we are and another quiz to see which Jane Austen heroine we are! I turned out to be Anne, and then Marianne on the other. Which is odd, because last time I was Elionor, the exact opposite!
Me and my cousin Hannah danced to Enya, in skrits in her basement which was so much fun! Then on my cousin's big screen we watched "Princess and the Pauper." Barbie style, you can imagine the flash backs I was having. It was funny to hear us all talk about who we thought was more charming out of the Ken's, and us sing to the old childhood songs.
After that weekend we headed home, and happy to say this weekend so far has been fun!
Yesterday, we went and saw "Mega Mind" with some families we know, then the families came over to swim and that was fun! Maybe I'll share pictures later... Well, I must go. Toodle-loo!

I'll Write...

The days go by, I grab my pen!
I scribble my thoughts,
I weave a story with each drop of ink.
As my heart pounds,
As my eyes brim with tears,
And as my soul cries I carry on,
Weaving my story.
There may be pain.
There may be sorrow.
There may be regret!

But I know my story is better still for it,
So I carry on.
I scribble faster,
I feel deeper,
And pledge a vow wiser than before.

This story is not over yet,
I keep writing.
This story is not at its end,
I still have blank paper!

The ink well is only have empty,
Only half full!
My mind is still straight,
Still full of ideas!
Oh I may be young,
I may have made plenty of mistakes,
But I am better for them.
So because of those things,
My pen never stops,
And I keep turning the page with a great expectancy,
That better will come and only the worst will be weakened!

Little Boys

So my friends, I am in Richmond, Va. and well, I'm having a delightful time with my cousins! I have a little gem of memory that I want to share with you from this weekend, about Joseph.
So me and my cousin Hannah were down in the basement at her house and we were, had been listening to Enya for a while...one that was our particular favorite called "Orinoco Flow." As we sat listening, Jack and Joseph were getting irritated with each other and that's when the voice of Joseph sang at the top of his lungs:
"Stay away, Stay away, Stay away."
Me and my cousin knew we should of rebuked him, but he was so sincre and serious that we didn't and it was SO funny we bursted out laughing! Jack and Liberty did too, and then Joseph started giggling also!  Then in a chorus we all sang Joseph's line instead of the desired... "Sail away, Sail away, Sail away." It was so fun!

A Moment...

In this moment my thoughts soar... Enya singing, making my imagination go wild  and I also at the end of my book, "The Witch of Blackbird Pond"

I sit here in a daze of thoughts thinking of loveliness, far off places, painting, my future home, things for my hopechest, the rushing of waves, seagulls squeaking, the country, fields and meadows full of flowers... I wish I could share with you the pictures in my head but, I can't. These thoughts bring in memories and reminds me of a moment like this that happened last week...
We were sitting in the kitchen and I was looking at a magazine of pictures and places in Europe, it had pictures like this...

Europe Cuisine
A Store
Breath taking...
My mind soon took me to streets in England, the beaches of Ireland, and the restaurants of Paris, France! My hands suddenly long for a pen and paper, and for a desk in a study where I was to write letters to those at home. Then my sister mentioned how I could very much marry a foreign man with dark black hair and a handsome figure... I laughed and then thought how grand it would be to live in a far off country. I imagined a cottage with a roaring fire, humble rugs on the floors, a garden out the window close by, and me reading a worn book with rapped speed, with a cup of tea near my hand and then me rising to make a meal in a little kitchen adorned in rustic furnishings!
It was a silly dream I know but, I liked it and dreamed even more of far off places... and now I think of a song with perfect words for taking adventure in a country far away from where I sit.

let me sail, let me sail, let the orinoco flow,
let me reach, let me beach on the shores of Tripoli.
let me sail, let me sail, let me crash upon your shore,
let me reach, let me beach far beyond the Yellow Sea.
da da, da da, da da, da da, da da

sail away, sail away, sail away
sail away, sail away, sail away
sail away, sail away, sail away
sail away, sail away, sail away

from Bissau to Palau - in the shade of Avalon,
from Fiji to Tiree and the Isles of Ebony,
from Peru to Cebu hear the power of Babylon,
from Bali to Cali - far beneath the Coral Sea.

Let your imagination flow... and sail away, sail away, sail away!

Summer Magic

So dear friends, the other day I thought to start out the summer I would watch a old dinsey classic "Summer Magic." Its a cute movie, and one of my favorites!  Here are some of my favorite scenes and songs:

Me and my sisters normally change the line "Hide the real you." to "Don't hide the real you." It fits nicely!

I hope you enjoyed them!

Summer Paradise

As the summer comes, and friends visit and pass by our home, I sit here listening to Allison Krauss Radio, I simple adore bluegrass music, my fingers moving to the melody of the music.
Vanilla ice cream, with strawberry freezer jam and raspberries, fill a cup near my hand, I take bites every now and then of the yummy dessert. Summer has its charms, just like the rest... the pool outside is almost always full of laughter from the people who fill it.
I had the joy earlier today, to journal of my weekend by the pool. The sun rays shining through the limbs of trees around the little pool and the light adding charm to the colorful flowers round it! I also breezed through a "Country Living" catalog, Ooing and awing at the vintage rooms they had in the back of the magazine. Planning my future room or home all out in my mind, while my eyes were flying from page to page with excitement!

Even though I don't live in the country, I still imagine my self too with walks in the "wood". And walks up to a small field to gather wild flowers to fill the corners of my room wit gaiety and well my friends, I am happily contented. :)

Now off to read "An-Old Fashioned Girl" by Louisa May Alcott. Summer dreams my friend!
Goodnight~

A Little Girl

Here is a story shared by mu aunt on facebook. I laughed and I thought some of you would laugh too!

So my 7 year old asked this AM how my curls grow? "I don't know." I told her I didn't always have curls and showed her a pic of me as a little girl with straight blonde hair and GLASSES!! She looked at the pic and said, "No wonder people used to make fun of you." "WHAT!?!" "It's your cheeks mommy." "What's wrong with my cheeks?!" "Mommy, I will NEVER make fun of you, so I'm not going to say." Nice.

Dream a Dream

As I sit here at my desk, "Anne of Green Gables: The Continuing Story." music flowing in the background.. I feel deep and highly capable of doing anything. Also as my thoughts flow from my mind, through my finger tips and onto the typing keys, blooming out these words to you, I feel like dreaming...
Many times when you dream... you dream of your future, the things you wish happened in the past or the things you wished were reality. We have a natural element to fantasize things, its in our genetics. But its what we fantasize that makes a difference, I many times dream of how I wish I was a heroine of  a novel, either one I'm writing or one I'm reading.
A thing I've learned over the past couple of weeks is this, we are all in a series of novels and we have the ability to be the heroine or the friend that helps when needed, the co-pilot to the plane going down or almost anything. No matter how dull you think your life may be there is always one who is interested and will pick up your story and read it, they may give you a sour face or a face full of shining from their beaming soul but, its from those very faces we learn!
We all utter a story with each step, we all have stupid unreliable things happen, that we think are the most unnatural things and then we reach the next climax to our story.
One thing that I've noticed is that, the main character of the most cherished stories are holding on to a dream or goal they've set their hearts on and with everything in them, they go for it!
Weather its foolish or prize winning, in the end they come out successful!

In "Anne of Green Gables." She learns that all the dreams in the world or all the things you can imagine cannot grasp the beauty or the perfection of love. Because most of the time its lying right in-front of you!
In "An-Old Fashioned Girl." She learns that staying true and being "old-fashioned" is a dozen times better than trying to be something your not and because she learned that lesson and stuck to it in the end she got the better end of the stick, so to speak, than most of the "honored" girls she knew.
In "Little Women." Jo learns that sticking to your dreams, weather or not they turn out the way you planned, is better than wasting your time. Because you always learn new lessons and meet new people in the end, despite the mishaps or the unfortune of your dream!
So dream a dream my friends, be the heroine you long to be, and look on to the climaxes of your story. Your living a reality only you can make and leading a person only you can lead!

One of my favorite lines of, "Mr. Magorium's Wonder Emporium" is this:

"Your life is an occasion. Rise to it." Mr. Edward Magorium

So let us live those words, dream those words and let us give history something to read about!
