A Moment...

In this moment my thoughts soar... Enya singing, making my imagination go wild  and I also at the end of my book, "The Witch of Blackbird Pond"

I sit here in a daze of thoughts thinking of loveliness, far off places, painting, my future home, things for my hopechest, the rushing of waves, seagulls squeaking, the country, fields and meadows full of flowers... I wish I could share with you the pictures in my head but, I can't. These thoughts bring in memories and reminds me of a moment like this that happened last week...
We were sitting in the kitchen and I was looking at a magazine of pictures and places in Europe, it had pictures like this...

Europe Cuisine
A Store
Breath taking...
My mind soon took me to streets in England, the beaches of Ireland, and the restaurants of Paris, France! My hands suddenly long for a pen and paper, and for a desk in a study where I was to write letters to those at home. Then my sister mentioned how I could very much marry a foreign man with dark black hair and a handsome figure... I laughed and then thought how grand it would be to live in a far off country. I imagined a cottage with a roaring fire, humble rugs on the floors, a garden out the window close by, and me reading a worn book with rapped speed, with a cup of tea near my hand and then me rising to make a meal in a little kitchen adorned in rustic furnishings!
It was a silly dream I know but, I liked it and dreamed even more of far off places... and now I think of a song with perfect words for taking adventure in a country far away from where I sit.

let me sail, let me sail, let the orinoco flow,
let me reach, let me beach on the shores of Tripoli.
let me sail, let me sail, let me crash upon your shore,
let me reach, let me beach far beyond the Yellow Sea.
da da, da da, da da, da da, da da

sail away, sail away, sail away
sail away, sail away, sail away
sail away, sail away, sail away
sail away, sail away, sail away

from Bissau to Palau - in the shade of Avalon,
from Fiji to Tiree and the Isles of Ebony,
from Peru to Cebu hear the power of Babylon,
from Bali to Cali - far beneath the Coral Sea.

Let your imagination flow... and sail away, sail away, sail away!
